JUNE 2018 EMPTIES // MINI REVIEW + WILL I REPURCHASE?

Sunday, June 3, 2018

Hello, friend! Today is another empties post by yours truly! I have been really bad at posting on here, and my other beauty platforms, for no reason other than my lack of motivation due the Instagram algorithm. In the midst of that, I felt I lost my passion for the beauty industry and realized I needed a change to re-motivate myself.

I changed my diet, decluttered a lot of my beauty items (which you can find for sale here), and rearrange my room and vanity area. I'm excited for this change, which is just in time for my 25th birthday (June 7th)!

Now let's talk about all these goodies (and some not so good) that I have used up!

The Tatcha Water Gel was originally named the 'Pore Perfecting Water Gel' and they renamed it to just 'The Water Gel' recently, just a fun little fact for ya! This lasted me forever, and when I mean forever, I mean about 21 months.. This could make some people cringe, but it didn't change in smell or texture, and it was rather expensive so I kept using and it kept performing! It is formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates, which is nice if that is what you are looking for! I used this in the morning on my face and neck prior to my makeup application and found it prepped my skin nicely for the following layers! What really made this product stand out to me was the 23 karat gold dust mixed into the formula- so beautiful! Now the real question.. Will I repurchase? Not right away because I have some other moisturizers to use up, have others on my list to try, and no longer have $65 to dish out for a moisturizer! I can most definitely see myself picking this up again in the far, far future though!

The First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay holds a special place in my heart, because this product was an introduction to me recognizing the influence of PR in the beauty community. I bought this back when all the Youtubers first received PR from First Aid Beauty and it was in all of their favorites. It must have been a few years ago- Yikes! In conclusion, at $24.00, this was an okay face wash, meaning it wasn't bad, and wasn't amazing- just okay. It did clean my skin thoroughly, but I have other washes I prefer much more. It just didn't live up to the hype for me and I found myself dreading to use this, but now I am so happy it's done.Woo! I will not be repurchasing!

The Kat Von D Unlock-It Makeup Remover Wipes were nice and did the job of makeup removing for me, plus they smelt good! At $10.00,  they also were a lot cheaper than most of the make-up wipes options at Sephora (I could no longer find them on the Sephora website, so they  may be discontinued). I did enjoy them, but I don't think I would purchase them again because there are other wipes I am more fond of, for a cheaper price!

I'm a huge fan of Tarte's Rainforest of the Sea line and the Drink of H2O Hydrating Boost Moisturizer this was no exception. The smell is amazing and reminds me of being on a tropical beach, which was a nice treat when using this product. It was a lightweight gel formula, which is my ideal moisturizer and it worked well with my skin. The only thing I didn't enjoy about this product was that it did leave a slight tackiness to the skin. I could see myself picking this up again.

This primer has been in my collection for so long, it's concerning, but I am so glad it's "finished". The Stila Aqua Glow Perfecting Primer was ideal to use during the hotter months! Once I got to the end of the tube, or so I thought,  I discovered that there was more product, probably about two months worth, so I scraped it up and threw it in the garbage, because I was so over it and noticed it was breaking me out on my chin area. It was $28.00 and looks like it will be discontinued soon due to the price markdowns on multiple sites. I will not be repurchasing.

I hear a lot of people rave about the Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip cleanser, but I just couldn't get on board. While it did clean my skin well, I wasn't too fond of the smell, or the price. All in all, it did the job, but it wasn't my favorite, so I will not be repurchasing.

The Maybelline Face Studio Master Conceal Camouflaging Concealer is one of the most underrated concealer in the beauty industry. I never hear anyone talking about this, and I don't know why! It's creamy and hydrating, without being cakey on the eyes. I reached for this when I wanted a natural and radiant look for my under eyes, which is often. I will definitely be repurchasing.

During the fall VIB Sale, I picked up a limited edition Tatcha set that came with a mini version of the Violet-C Radiance Mask, which took me longer than expected to finish up! This was a nice hydrating mask, that had the most beautiful purple color! I enjoyed the mask, but I will not be picking up the full size as there are other masks on my wish list!

During the holiday season, I found a travel size version of the Bath & Body Works Ginger & Cardamom Olive Oil Body Wash in my room.. I was later told it was a Christmas Gift from my neighbor- How sweet?! I decided to give it a go despite my previous experiences with Bath & Body Works Body wash. Let me tell you, I pray that they re-release this because with the addition of olive oil, I became obsessed. It was so hydrating and smelt amazing- my boyfriend even loved it! I will definitely repurchase if it comes back next holiday season!

Glam Glow's Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment always works so well with my skin, but not my wallet, so when I get the opportunity, I try and grab the Point Perks at Sephora of these! I am not about spending almost $60 on a small jar that usually dries up before finished. I love the product, and will not repurchase, but will definitely redeem if it's available again at Sephora.

Here's another Tatcha product I have used up by this month! Woo! The Water Cream by Tatcha, was just that- very lightweight and hydrating. I initially started using this within my nighttime skincare routine, and found out that I much preferred using it in the AM because it was lightweight and refreshing to use in the morning, but not heavy enough to use at night. I wasn't sure if I was going to repurchase it or not, but now that I haven't had it for a few weeks, I have to admit, that I really miss using it! The packaging was fun, and made me feel super luxurious and rich (I wish!) when applying the skin. I can see myself purchasing again in the future!

I hoped you enjoyed my first post in a while! Please share your empties with me as well, and as always, if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Love,
